Therapeutic Breathwork in St. Charles, Geneva & Batavia

Accessing the Subconscious. Breathwork is a fast-track to emotional release. By utilizing specific rhythmic breathing patterns, we bypass the "thinking mind" to clear trapped physical tension and stagnant energy. These sessions provide a profound sense of clarity and are a powerful alternative for those who feel "stuck" in traditional cognitive therapy.

Beyond the immediate release, this work bridges the gap between the body’s innate wisdom and your daily conscious experience. It serves as a recalibration for the nervous system, allowing you to process deeply held patterns without the need for intellectual analysis or verbal explanation. As you integrate these shifts, you may find that the internal "noise" of stress begins to fade, making room for a more resilient, centered, and authentic version of yourself to emerge.

Appointments are $175 for 75 minutes.

Benefits of Therapeutic Breathwork:

  • Release trapped emotions without verbal processing

  • Clear physical tension and chronic stress

  • Regulate your nervous system naturally

  • Access deeper layers of healing than talk therapy alone

  • Experience profound emotional release in a safe, guided setting

  • Ideal for those who feel "stuck" or "numb"

Polyvagal Theory: Rewiring Your Nervous System

The Science of Safety. Before we can process emotions, your body needs to feel safe. Using Polyvagal Theory, we map your nervous system’s responses to stress. This is particularly effective for clients in St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia dealing with chronic "burnout" or high-functioning anxiety. We move you out of "fight or flight" and back into a state of social connection and calm.

Polyvagal Theory offers a revolutionary lens for understanding the physiological basis of your emotional well-being by focusing on the vagus nerve—the "information superhighway" of your nervous system. Unlike traditional approaches that view stress as purely psychological, Polyvagal Theory explains how your body constantly scans your environment for cues of safety or danger, a process known as neuroception. By identifying whether your system is in a state of social engagement, "fight-or-flight," or a "freeze" response (dorsal vagal shutdown), we can begin to shift your biology out of survival mode. At St. Charles Advanced Therapy™, we use these insights to help you move away from chronic anxiety or numbness and back into a state of "ventral vagal" safety, where true connection and healing become possible.

Integrating Polyvagal-informed therapy into your wellness journey provides practical, somatic tools to regulate your autonomic nervous system in real-time.

This approach is particularly effective for clients who are dealing with trauma, chronic stress, or "burnout," as it addresses the physical tension and emotional dysregulation stored in the body. Rather than just talking about your challenges, we work to reshape your nervous system’s responses, building "vagal tone" to increase your resilience against life's stressors. By bridging the gap between the mind and the body, Polyvagal Theory empowers you to reclaim control over your internal state, fostering a deep sense of calm and biological safety that radiates through your relationships and daily life.

Appointments are $150 for 60 minutes.

Benefits of Polyvagal-Informed Therapy:

  • Move out of chronic fight-or-flight mode

  • Build resilience against stress and overwhelm

  • Improve emotional regulation naturally

  • Understand your body's stress responses

  • Restore sense of safety and connection

  • Effective for burnout, anxiety, and trauma

Subtle Energy Healing & Chakra Rebalancing

Chakra energy healing balancing subtle energy in Geneva Illinois

Restoring Your Natural Balance. Everything is energy. Subtle Energy Healing focuses on the biofield surrounding the body. Whether you are recovering from emotional exhaustion or seeking to align your mental and physical health, this gentle, non-invasive approach helps clear energetic blockages and restores your body’s natural vitality.

Subtle energy healing is an integrative approach to wellness that focuses on the biofield—the invisible yet measurable field of energy that surrounds and permeates the human body. Grounded in both ancient wisdom and modern quantum perspectives, this modality operates on the principle that emotional or physical imbalances often manifest as "blocks" or stagnant energy within our internal system. By working with these subtle frequencies, we can clear the energetic residues of stress and trauma that traditional talk therapy might not fully reach. At St. Charles Advanced Therapy™, our energy healing sessions provide a quiet, restorative space to harmonize your system, helping you shift from a state of fragmentation into one of holistic alignment.

For clients seeking a truly comprehensive path to health, subtle energy healing offers a gentle yet profound way to enhance the body’s natural ability to repair itself. This practice is particularly beneficial for those experiencing chronic fatigue, persistent anxiety, or a sense of being "spiritually stuck." By balancing your energetic centers, we aim to lower cortisol levels and promote a deep state of parasympathetic relaxation, which is essential for long-term recovery and emotional resilience. Whether used as a standalone treatment or as a powerful complement to EMDR or psychotherapy, energy healing empowers you to connect with your internal vitality, fostering a sense of peace that is felt deeply in both the mind and the body.

Sessions are $150-$200 depending on the length of session. Contact us for more information.

Benefits of Subtle Energy Healing:

  • Clear energetic blockages holding you back

  • Restore your body's natural vitality

  • Deep relaxation and nervous system reset

  • Release trauma stored in the energy field

  • Complement EMDR and psychotherapy for deeper healing

  • Gentle, non-invasive approach

Past-Life Regression Therapy (PLR)

Past life regression therapy exploring soul journey in Kane County

Exploring the Soul’s Journey. Very few therapists in Kane County offer Past-Life Regressions. This modality uses deep relaxation and hypnosis to access memories stored in the subconscious or "soul-level" memory. Whether viewed as literal history or symbolic metaphor, PLR often provides the "missing piece" to phobias, recurring life patterns, or unexplained soul-deep yearnings.

Past life regression is a very specialized form of hypnotherapy that allows you to access the deep-seated wisdom of the subconscious mind to explore memories and experiences beyond your current lifetime.

Grounded in the concept that the soul carries a continuous narrative, this modality helps identify recurring patterns, unexplained phobias, or soul-level contracts that may be influencing your present-day emotional and physical well-being. By entering a relaxed, meditative state of "theta" brainwave frequency, you can uncover the root origins of long-standing challenges that have not responded to traditional clinical interventions. At our St. Charles Advanced Therapy™ practice, we facilitate these journeys with a grounded, therapeutic approach, ensuring you feel safe and supported as you integrate the profound insights and karmic lessons that emerge.

Integrating past life regression into your healing journey offers a unique perspective for those in those clients who are seeking "soul-level" clarity and spiritual growth. This process is not just about historical curiosity; it is a pragmatic tool for emotional release and the resolution of deep-seated trauma that feels "older" than your current life experiences. Many clients find that by resolving these ancestral or past-life imprints, they experience immediate shifts in their current relationships, career paths, and self-perception. Whether you are seeking to understand a soul connection or to release an unexplainable block, past life regression provides a bridge to your higher self, allowing you to live with a renewed sense of purpose and freedom in the here and now.

Sessions are $750 and generally take 3 hours. We limit the number of regressions to no more than 3 per year.

Benefits of Past-Life Regressions:

  • Understand recurring life patterns and themes

  • Release unexplained phobias or fears

  • Gain spiritual clarity and purpose

  • Resolve "old soul" trauma affecting current life

  • Access subconscious wisdom and healing

  • Experience profound emotional breakthroughs

Integrative Healing vs. Traditional Therapy

Traditional Talk Therapy works primarily with the conscious mind, helping you understand patterns and develop coping strategies through conversation and cognitive processing.

Integrative Healing works with the body, nervous system, and energy field—addressing trauma and stress stored below conscious awareness. These modalities:

  • Access the subconscious - Bypass the "thinking mind" to reach deeper layers of healing

  • Work somatically - Release trauma held in the body, not just the mind

  • Regulate the nervous system - Create biological safety so healing can occur

  • Address spiritual dimensions - Connect mind, body, and spirit for holistic wellness

  • Complement traditional therapy - Often accelerate progress when combined with psychotherapy

Many clients find the most powerful results come from a hybrid approach: using talk therapy to understand patterns, then using breathwork, energy healing, or polyvagal work to clear the physical and energetic weight of those patterns.

Why Choose an Integrative Approach?

Most people come to St. Charles Advanced Therapy™ because they’ve tried traditional methods and feel they’ve hit a plateau. By combining the biological science of Polyvagal Theory with the spiritual depth of Subtle Energy and Breathwork, we treat the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

The Science Behind Integrative Healing

While these approaches may seem "alternative," many are grounded in emerging science:

Polyvagal Theory - Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, this neuroscience framework explains how the vagus nerve regulates our stress response and social engagement.

Breathwork & HRV - Research shows conscious breathing patterns directly influence heart rate variability, cortisol levels, and nervous system regulation.

Biofield Science - Studies on energy healing demonstrate measurable changes in electromagnetic fields, inflammation markers, and stress hormones.

Hypnotic States & Theta Waves - Brain imaging shows that hypnotic regression accesses theta brainwave states associated with deep healing and subconscious access.

At St. Charles Advanced Therapy™, we bridge ancient wisdom with modern understanding, providing integrative care that honors both science and spirituality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I’ve never done Breathwork or Energy Healing. What does a typical session feel like?

Every experience is unique, but most clients report a sense of profound relaxation or a "lightness" in their body. During Breathwork, you may feel tingling or temperature changes as your body releases stored tension. Subtle Energy Healing is very gentle—most clients simply feel a deep sense of peace, similar to the state of mind just before falling asleep.

Q. How do I know which modality is right for me?

During your initial consultation, we'll discuss your goals, challenges, and what approaches resonate with you. Many clients start with Breathwork or Polyvagal work and explore other modalities as they progress. We can also create a customized treatment plan that combines multiple approaches.

Q. Are these approaches evidence-based or "woo-woo"?

While these modalities draw from both ancient wisdom and modern science, many have growing research support. Polyvagal Theory is grounded in neuroscience. Breathwork's effects on the nervous system are well-documented. Energy healing is increasingly studied in biofield science. Past-life regression is a therapeutic tool regardless of your beliefs about reincarnation. We integrate these approaches with clinical expertise and trauma-informed care.

Q. Is Past-Life Regression "real," or is it my imagination?

The beauty of Past-Life Regression is that it is therapeutic regardless of your personal beliefs. Whether you view the experience as a literal past-life memory or your subconscious mind using metaphor to show you what you need to heal today, the emotional breakthroughs are very real. My role is to guide you safely through the narrative your mind provides to find healing in your current life.

Q. How is Polyvagal Theory different from regular "Deep Breathing"?

While breathing is a part of it, Polyvagal Theory is a scientific framework. It helps us identify whether your nervous system is in a "Freeze," "Flight," “Freeze”, “Fawn”, or "Social Connection" state. Instead of just telling you to relax, we use specific exercises to physically signal to your brain—via the Vagus nerve—that you are safe. This is especially helpful for our high-stress Fox Valley professionals who find it hard to "turn off" their brains.

Q. Can I combine these modalities with traditional talk therapy?

Absolutely. In fact, many clients find that a "Hybrid" approach works best. We might use talk therapy to identify a pattern, then use Breathwork or Subtle Energy Healing to clear the physical weight of that pattern. We can tailor our sessions to whatever you feel your system needs that week.

Q. Are these services covered by insurance?

These specialized modalities are typically not covered by traditional insurance. However, we accept FSA/HSA cards for payment.

Q. What should I wear/bring?

To prepare:

  • Wear: Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (especially for Breathwork).

  • Bring: An open mind and perhaps a journal to jot down insights after Breathwork or a Past-Life Regression.

  • Location: Our quiet, private space is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Randall Road.
